The untimely death through leukaemia of one of his interviewees, particularly affected him and he resolved to do his bit for leukaemia research in a particularly spectacular way, to sail around Great Britain in his own quite small boat the"Wild Rover". He asked me to make a picture to celebrate the event and to help raise funds for this good cause. The result is this little etching entirely made and printed by hand in a limited edition of 200. It presents Rob at the helm of "Wild Rover" as she departs from Chatham Marina with Upnor Castle just across the historic river Medway. He did return safely and deserves our admiration.
